Since the pallet duck house build was a success, we decided to move our egg slaves into the yard this winter and build them a simple coop. the one thing missing in my opinion in a lot of pallet builds is insulating and outside finishes. so here is our version of a pallet chicken coop.. Building the chicken coop walls from pallets building the chicken coop walls from pallets. once the bottom layer of the side walls were attached, we built a 2×4 frame to the inside of the coop for stability. interior frame for stability. the two frames on the ends were made to attach doors on each end. one for the chickens and one for us.. Another chicken coop made of pallets that you can possibly build for free. judy said that she saved about $1,000 in lumbers by using pallets. the difference between judy's plan and pallet palace is that judy disassembled it first before using the pallet for materials..
For various reasons, this chicken coop was it. i decided that this chicken coop i am going to share with you here would be my first solo building project. i wanted no one helping me. no one to even hand the screws, i wanted to do this on my own.. The only problem, was that every coop that was large enough to fit as many chickens as we were planning on, cost a fortune. definitely not worth it. so, this is how we built our chicken coop from scraps of wood we had, 4x8 flat pallets that my father in law found at work that they no longer needed, and many trips to the store.. This project is taken a pallet apart and making a chicken coop with the wood that we are able to reuse and put to good use. without having to spend a lot of money for wood we save and was able too.
